Hi, I am Dr. Noimot Bakare Ayoub. I am a PhD Economist and Certified Data Scientist with a passion for making data accessible, meaningful, and actionable for students at every level.

I hold a PhD in Economics and a Certification in Data Science and Deep Learning, earning Top Project recognition in both. My career has taken me across some of the most influential data-driven institutions in the world. I served as an Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, an Economist Trainee at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and a Consultant at the World Bank, applying economic analysis to real policy and business decisions.

I have taught at the college level and bring the same rigor to every classroom, curiosity, and commitment to clarity that defined my research career. At Nomi Institute, I designed both The Data Lab and The Data Lab Applied Track from the ground up, building programs I wished existed when I was learning. The result is a curriculum that is simultaneously beginner-friendly and intellectually serious, structured and project-driven, and always grounded in the real world.

I believe that data literacy is one of the most powerful skills a person can develop and that it belongs in the hands of students long before they reach graduate school or enter the workforce. That belief is why Nomi Institute exists.

About Nomi Institute

Nomi Institute is an applied data and analytics organization focused on teaching people how to think with data and apply it to real-world problems.

The Data Literacy Gap: Students are often taught tools, but not how to think with data. Across fields such as medicine, engineering, business, and policy, decisions are increasingly data-driven, yet most people cannot interpret, question, or apply data in real-world contexts. This is a conceptual gap.

Our Approach: At Nomi Institute, we focus on applied learning. Our programs are designed to move beyond theory and tools, helping students develop the ability to analyze real-world data, ask better questions, and communicate insights clearly. Through structured, project-based programs, students learn how to move from data to decisions.

Leadership: Nomi Institute is led by Dr. Ayoub, a PhD Economist and Certified Data Scientist with experience applying data and economic analysis to real-world policy and business problems. The Institute draws on both academic and applied experience to design programs that are rigorous, practical, and relevant.
